Jeje’s & Mejana Mediterranean Restaurant/Market – Authentic Fresh Mediterranean Cuisine & Market in Bakersfield

Who would have thought the best Mediterranean food that I've ever had in Bakersfield Would come from that place attached to a shop that sells fresh meat, groceries, pots and pans and other trinkets,hookah pipes and snacks. I think I would have guessed that I just never knew this place was here. This place came as a suggestion from my wife. First of all, this place was quiet and seemed as if the neighborhood around it wasn't there.It is located on Ming avenue, which is not the quietest for the cleanest place.But i've found serenity inside his doors. THE FOOD: Let's start with the lamb chop plate.There was plenty of food,three lamb chops with rice or salad and hummus.I chose to get no salad and double rice. The blade also had a garlic paste, which was absolutely amazing.And I could eat that by itself or with just about anything.My wife had the mixed plate which was chicken, Kebab and beef kebob.. the lamb chops were cooked perfectly medium as I asked and were very well.Seasoned, not too salty and very moist.The plate came with hummus, with olive oil and a garlic paste that they included as well as what I believe was naan. That was literally too hungry to ask.So I don't know but anyway. My wifes said that the chicken was very moist her beef kabob which almost add a texture like a ground beef but not?? was very tasty and flavorful. We nearly ate our whole plates and I gave a compliment to who seemed to be the owner of the place who was very receptive and continually asked us how everything was. I informed him.It was our first time here, and that I would definitely let people know how good his food was.And that I would be back at least once a week when my wife had that craving. real review is over... JUST TALKING NOW. By the way, i'm totally not a fan of mediterranean food, but I could see my myself eating here quite a bit. My wife however, .She would absolutely eat mediterranean food 324 days a year?..lol. without having to cook it If I let her. And if I didn't let her, she would probably go to this place without me. Either way, great food.I will be back and I know for a fact that a lot more people should be here.Eating, then we're there.But it was a sunday night, so I plan on stopping by to look at some of the items in their shop and grocery store next time.I go grab something to eat.

Delicious! My daughter and just happened to see the “Now Open” sign from the gas station, so we looked the place up and decided to try it. We have had the wonderful opportunity to live in many different types of communities and have been able to experience a lot of diversity. I haven’t been able to find some where that offers so many falafel options until now. We had the falafel wrap, oh my goodness it was amazing. We also had the Margarita pizza, the dough, cheese and sauce, so good. My daughter ordered the chicken and beef kabob plate, she was in heaven. Everything was fresh and delicious. The service was great, the staff was very friendly and welcoming. I will recommend this establishment to everyone. I wish their business have a long and prosperous life.

We patiently waited for Jeje’s to open …. And it was defiantly worth the wait! We have dined here four times already! Each time the experience was exactly the same. A warm greeting, patient and informative staff, and FANTASTIC food!! So far we have had the Ribeye wrap, the Chicken Fajita bowl, kabab wrap, Beef Shawarma bowl, chicken Shawarma bowl, French fry’s and other things I am not remembering the name of!!! All the food is fresh hot and prepared right in front of you. Delicious and satisfying. The menu is large enough that everyone will find something they like without being overwhelmed. When you arrive here it’s like you are walking into their home and not a business. Warm, friendly and ever so helpful! Oh and they now have a full Mediterranean market! Fresh meat and such an eclectic array of produce. There truly is something for everyone here!!! Try them soon before the line is out the door!!!!

It’s a grocery store with the 5 star restaurant in it. Fresh and delicious plates and Sandwiches. Ordered Margarita pizza and it was super light and tasty. Very friendly staff with the smile on their face. You will find lots of items from Middle East.

I get takeout from this place at least once per week. The food is top quality, made with care & good ingredients!! We’ve had the pizza, wraps, and flatbreads and all are amazing. The flatbread flavors are new to my palette but did NOT disappoint (the muhammara/cheese and za’atar/cheese are my faves). The chicken shawarma is super flavorful and comes in a wrap with great sauces + bombbbb pickles. The breads and wrap/tortillas I’m fairly certain are baked in/house and are delish. The price is very reasonable for the quality as well. Very happy this place is just down the block from me.

Excellent little market with a fantastic restaurant inside. Everyone there made me feel like I was just another old friend or member of family, could not describe the atmosphere any other way than "warm and inviting". I had the Arabic beef shawarma for lunch; deliciously seasoned meat wrapped in some warm. crispy bread, served fresh with hummus and fries. Just about as good as it gets. Definitely worth a visit, I'll be looking to come back if I ever find myself back in Bakersfield.

BEST SHAWARMA IN TOWN! This spot blew me away! The shawarma wrap was perfectly grilled, flavorful, and packed with juicy, tender meat. The fresh salad on the side was crisp and vibrant, with just the right amount of tang. The lemon-mint drink was so refreshing and paired perfectly with the meal. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, and the attention to detail really showed. If you’re craving authentic Mediterranean flavors, this place is a must-try!

My Italian eyes are crying tears of joy. We finally have a place in Bakersfield that makes authentic pizzas! The pizza chef is Giulio. He’s Sicilian and French. He has an Italian pizza oven and cooks pizza the Napolitano way. If you want to get away and pretend you’re eating a pizza in Naples get over here!!!! We also had their beef kebab which was HUGE.
